From Sweden. Born in 1969, Gothenburg.
Blessed by his parents on his thirteenth birthday with a first system camera.
After being introduced to a local photo club in Hallsberg, he learnt how to develop film and make photocopies in the dark.
His secondary education “Graphic Design to Print '', Örebro, and it’s third year as employed drum scanner operator, negatives and printed paper copies were bigger than those of the local photo club. The graphic printing industry Introduced him to the medium and large film formats. With that, a new awareness and desire of owning and wielding a Hasselblad camera.
Studies at residential colleges for adult education in the fields of journalism and TV- production at Liljeholmen & Kaggeholm, expanded his photographic interest into moving images and the editing of these.
Later as a professional in television production, his camerawork was performed in Sweden and abroad, both in studio environments, with heavy duty pneumatic stands on wheels, and out in the field with slightly more portable equipment.
Finding the work as a television editor more rewarding and not as physically heavy, he continued to entertain the still photo experience on an amateur spare time level and now with the much anticipated Hasselblad camera.
The television production editing sessions with eager producers pushing for special efx and artistic motion graphics in 2D and 3D lead him into the field of 3D-animation.
To gain more insight into the area he studied “Design & 3D-Animation”, at University West, Sweden. A programme that part from animation, also provided relevant knowledge to still photography with regards to colours, volumes, lighting and composition.
The dark room became Lightroom - in all it’s digital glory. And its siblings After Effects and Photoshop became important tools for him in his work on animated films and computer games.
Further studies at California based “Animation Mentor” with film industry mentors from Disney, Dreamworks and Sony deepened his understanding of camera work in general and furthermore how to make camera work enhance storytelling and visual impact.
After all these experiences, he went independent to discover his own visual voice as a photographer and artist. His image work continues - always revolving back to the photographic still.
